Elaboration

Lagavulin 12 years has matured in traditional spare American oak barrels, selected precisely to achieve the perfect expression of distillery character. It has a powerful and intense flavor, although somewhat sweet.

Lagavulin is an iconic Islay malt, having brought majesty to spirits for over two hundred years. The most notable aromas are ash and linseed oil.

A light fruity note stands out, as well as a smell of cleanliness and freshness thanks to the marine influence provided by the breeze from Lagavulin Bay. The texture is smooth, the dominant flavor is sweeter, more intense and smokier than expected.

Tasting Note

• View : very faint straw gold color.
• Nose : intermediate intensity. The predominant notes are ash and linseed oil. The caramel aroma with fruity notes also stands out. Mixed with water its aromas intensify and produces more pungent notes.
• Body : intermediate.
• Mouth : The palate is natural, soft and fine, with a sweeter than expected flavor. In addition, two characteristic flavors are smoky and salty. It is as clean as it is fresh. Its particular sweetness is enhanced by water, as other flavors are reduced without influencing the overall impression. The finish is long and very smoky, with a touch that progressively intensifies.
