In the 1950s, Severiano Sastre began making wines from the winery in La Horra, Ribera del Duero, and today he continues with the same philosophy of small production with unlimited care.

Preparation and aging

Viña Sastre Crianza 2021 is a single-varietal Tinta del País wine. The grapes grow in vineyards that are 20 to 60 years old, at an altitude of 800m, on the slopes of the Duero River, in the Burgos town of Roa, headquarters of the DO Duero. Viña Sastre Crianza is made in an artisanal way, which is why no mineral fertilizers, herbicides or insecticides are used.

After maceration and fermentation, Viña Sastre Crianza is aged for 14 months in French and American oak barrels with four rackings.
