Viña Pomal Reserva 2017

Viña Pomal Reserva 2017 is a red wine made under the Rioja Denomination of Origin, by Bodegas Bilbaínas, with 100% Tempranillo grapes.

The centuries-old Bodegas Bilbaínas were born with a Gallic heart and were consolidated with a Riojan spirit. Bodegas Bilbaínas is the oldest bottling firm in La Rioja, it is the winery with the largest area of ​​underground cellars in the territory.

Preparation and aging

Viña Pomal Reserva 2017 is a single-varietal Tempranillo (100%). Viña Pomal Reserva is characterized by a rather traditional winemaking: after destemming and crushing, a moderately long maceration takes place and, after alcoholic and malolactic fermentations, the wines are racked and clarified slightly to be transferred to barrels. The wine spends 18 months in barrels; barrels that are traditionally made of American oak. In this type, 2 or 3 rackings are carried out, which clean the wine naturally, thus avoiding the need for subsequent treatments.

After passing through the barrel, the wine spends two years in bottles before going on the market.
