Semele Crianza 2021 is a wine that has all the strength and character of a magnificent Tempranillo.

The Montebaco winery is located between two municipalities: Valbuena de Duero and Pesquera de Duero of the Ribera de Duero DO, becoming an "island" in that DO. The climate is extreme continental with very pronounced thermal oscillations.

Preparation and aging

Semele Crianza 2021 is a blend of Tempranillo and Merlot from the Monte Alto estate, a 50-hectare vineyard of 20-year-old vines. The vineyard was planted on clay-calcareous soil, about 850-900 meters above sea level, between the municipalities of Valbuena and Pesquera de Duero.

Semele remains in the barrel for 12 months to age.
