Havana Club Rum 7 years is the production of Don José Navarro, the first Master of Cuban Rum. He was the person who started the tradition of Continuous Aging, a process with which they have managed to produce superior rums in Cuba and around the world, also known as extra aged. With the Havana Club 7 Year Rum, the brand began the production of extra aged rums in Cuba.

Elaboration

A peculiar and differentiating feature of Havana 7 is that a portion of the final mixture returns to the barrel to continue aging for several more years. This portion is used for new productions, that is, the Havana 7 that are produced today continue to possess the spirit of the original rum that was created almost half a century ago.

The rum base, considered the youngest, has been aged for 7 years, but it also contains other bases aged for more than 4 decades. Therefore, the natural aging process that it goes through for 7 years is equivalent to 14 years of aging in a whiskey.
