Brugal Rum
Description
Ron Brugal is a rum from the Dominican Republic. It can boast of being the third brand in the international rum market and the third brand in the European market.
Its origin is Spanish through Don Andrés Brugal Montaner who founded Brugal & CO in the second half of the 19th century, in Puerto Plata.
Preparation and aging
Brugal Rum is aged for 5 years. Made from alcohol produced by the fermentation of sugar cane molasses, like all Dominican products. Once cut, the sugar cane is transported to the mills where it is squeezed until all its juice is extracted.
This juice called molasses is transported to the Brugal distillery where it is first fermented with yeasts in large capacity tanks. After this process, it is distilled under vacuum and the resulting alcohol goes through its final production process with demineralized water for aging in burnt white oak barrels.
