Ramón Bilbao Reserve 2016

Ramón Bilbao Reserva 2016 is a red wine from the Rioja designation of origin produced by Bodegas Ramón Bilbao. Also coming from one of the three best vintages of the last 30 years according to the Regulatory Council.

The Ramón Bibao Wineries were founded in 1924 by Ramón Bilbao in Haro (La Rioja) and have been passed down from generation to generation until 1999, when they were acquired by Diego Zamora SA.

Preparation and aging

Ramón Bilbao Reserva 2016 is a blend of 90% Tempranillo and 10% Mazuelo varieties. When preparing the reserves at Ramón Bilbao, we think about wines that in most cases will be opened after a few years. Therefore, they are suitable blends to remain in the barrel for a long period and thus gain longevity and ensure that their evolution in the bottle is slow and full. Although they correspond to a classic pattern as they are made with Tempranillo, Mazuelo and Graciano, aged in American oak; For many years now, their incorporation of extra fruit, due to their intense maceration, places them among the most modern wines within the Designation of Origin.

It has an aging period of 20 months in barrel and 20 months in bottle.

• Nose: Intense and aromatic memories of black fruit (blueberries) on the nose along with a pleasant toast of its rich woods. The spicy touches play with minerals such as charcoal or Chinese ink, bitter chocolate and paloduz.
• Palate: It is tasty and elegant and enveloping with notes of currants, wood embers, pepper and tobacco leaves and infusion.
