Borders of Remelluri Labastida Vineyards 2020

Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Labastida 2020 is a red wine with its own personality, which reflects very well the work of the vineyards from which the grapes come.

Remelluri is a farm located near Labastida, La Rioja Alavesa, with a hundred hectares of its own vineyards, where the Rodríguez Hermandorea family has recreated a vineyard in the best style of the Bordeaux châteaux.

Preparation and aging

Lindes de Remelluri Viñedos de Labastida 2020 comes from the edges of La Granja, in the municipality of Labastida. The grapes are brought to the winery by some of the best winegrowers in town. The vines are planted on poor clay-calcareous soils, with a bedrock that emerges in areas. These terraces are made up mostly of sandstone and marl whose origin is in the Quaternary era, and traditional viticulture is carried out.

"Boundary" term or line that separates some properties from others. The plots that border the Nuestra Señora de Remelluri Farm belong to two of the most interesting wine-growing municipalities in La Rioja, Labastida and San Vicente de la Sonsierra. Some of the best winegrowers in these two towns have been bringing grapes to our winery for many years.

Since 2009, these grapes have been separated from the rest of the estate's grapes and are used to make a new wine, "Lindes de Remelluri", thus creating a new wine that reflects these unique and different towns.

Lindes de Remelluri is made in limited quantities, it is not a second wine, it is a wine with its own personality that aims to explain in a fresh and direct way the work of these families in their vineyards in their town.

The harvest is completely manual, in 20kg boxes. It is normally carried out from the end of September to the end of October and a double selection is carried out, in the field and on the table.

This wine has been aged for 12 months in 225-liter barrels and 5,000-liter French oak vats. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts.
