Description
La Viña de Andrés Romeo 2012 is a great estate wine made by Bodega Contador in the DO La Rioja.
A tribute from Benjamín Romeo, winemaker and viticulturist who owns the winery, to his father Andrés. Bodegas Contador is Bejamín Romeo: life, love of the land, roots, demand, passion, time, result… success.
Preparation and aging
La Viña de Andrés Romeo 2012 is a single-varietal Tempranillo. The harvest is carried out manually and the grapes go through a double selection process. First the best clusters are selected from which, after destemming, the best beans are selected. The grapes macerate for 3 days before fermentation, which will last for 7 days at a controlled temperature between 19 and 27ºC. After fermentation, the grapes undergo another maceration for 3 more days.
The yolk wine is devatted and passed directly into new French oak barrels where it will be aged for 18 months.
