Figuero 12 2021

Figuero 12 2021, made with Tempranillo, seemed to us to be a wine with great aromatic intensity on the nose, and on the palate, powerful and powerful. A wine with a great present and a better future.

Viñedos y Bodegas García Figuero was founded in 2001 to make its own wines, after having been selling its grapes to the best wineries in the Ribera del Duero since 1968.

Elaboration

Figuero 12 2021 is made exclusively with Tempranillo grapes, with an average age of 40 years. Manual harvest carried out in 12 kg chestnut baskets, meticulous and immediate transport to the Winery. Vatting in gravity tank OVI system. Cold maceration for 2 days at 12ºC. Spontaneous alcoholic fermentation at max. 29ºC.

2 daily pumping overs and 1 "délestage" at the end of fermentation. Total maceration of about 17 days. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation.

Aging

Aging for 12 months in new barrels of 1 wine. 60% American, 40% French. Clarification with egg white. Bottling and aging in the same until completing 2 years.

Tasting Note of Figuero 12 2021

• View: Figuero 12 is an elegant red wine with an intense cherry red color with cardinal rims. Clean, bright and quite deep.
• Nose: Great aromatic intensity with a lot of freshness. The red fruit stands out in a wide range of spices (vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and pink pepper). The wood seduces with notes of blonde tobacco and toffee.
• Mouth: Wide mouthfeel with very good tannic structure, prolonged by great acidity. So much freshness is surprising in a wine of that power. Mouth with marked personality and perfect harmony. The entire aromatic range perceived in the nose is found again in the mouth.

Figuero 12 is ideal to accompany rice with meat, small game, mushrooms, roasts, sausages and stews.
