Conde de San Cristóbal 2020 is a red wine with Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin, produced by the Conde de San Cristóbal winery.

It is made with 100% fine red wine from its Pago de Valdestremero vineyards. It is a wine with a lot of personality and elegance, which transmits many fresh aromas.

Elaboration

The time elapsed between cutting the bunch and receiving the grapes is a maximum of 30 minutes, since in this way they avoid oxidation and spontaneous fermentation. The grapes, harvested by hand, go to the selection table and are destemmed at low revolutions.

Subsequently, it enters the winemaking process. Cold maceration is carried out in stainless steel tanks at 8ºC for approximately 3 - 5 days. The process continues the alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 20 to 24ºC for 9 to 12 days.

Finally, the wine undergoes maceration with “the pastes” - 15 to 20 days before - to finish with aging for 12 to 14 months in French oak barrels.

• Palate : it is an expressive wine, with a round and long palate. It has a characteristic freshness, and a very good balance.

Vineyards

The vineyards are high altitude as they extend on plots with an altitude between 780 - 900 meters above sea level. We have 14 plots in 7 different types of soils: loam, clay loam, sandy loam, clayey limestone, sandy, alluvial and clay loam. The age of the strains varies between 18 and 39 years. The winery is made up of 14 plots with 7 types of soils.
