Cardhu was born in 1811 on a small farm in the Speyside region, the place where Helen Cumming began making whiskey in small quantities.

Preparation and aging

Cardhu Gold Reserve is aged in the distillery's most toasted barrels. Carefully selected by Master Distiller Maureen Robinson, these casks add warm notes of toffee and ripe fruit to the characteristic smoothness of Cardhu and Speyside (Scotland) whiskies.

• Nose : Shy and soft at first, with exceptional delicacy and marked freshness. Little by little it reveals the sweetness of preserved fruits, where hints of red apple peel, orange peel, fresh pear and barley sugar mixed with icing sugar or marzipan can be distinguished.
• Palate: More flavor and dryness than what the nose suggests. It has a soft texture, with an initial sweetness that is cut by the defined orange zest.
