Star of Bombay is a gin, created by Nikolas Fordham and inspired by the original from 1761. It is produced in Laverstoke Mill (England).

Elaboration
Star of Bombay is a gin whose objective is to maximize the balance of Bombay Sapphire together with two new botanicals: Bergamot peels and Ambrette seeds. To obtain this gin, Fordham searched in the most remote places for botanical products that would enhance the gin. Bergamot is the green gold of Calabria (Italy), whose peels are dried in the sun and used in gin to provide a fragrant touch. On the other hand, Ambreta are seeds of the tropical yellow hibiscus flower grown in Ecuador, providing elegance and aroma. The slow distillation method used gives smoothness to the alcohol.

- Nose : Powerful and strong aroma, where ripe junipers can be glimpsed along with a citrus and floral note.
- Palate : It is a smooth gin -thanks to slow distillation- that has a balanced flavor. In addition, it achieves a floral memory on the palate.
Consumption recommendation
As it is a mild alcohol, it can be drunk simply with ice. However, the ideal is to consume it in the form of Gin-tonic.
History Bombay
Bombay begins the creation of its alcohol starting with botanicals. They use up to 12 excellent quality botanicals in the distillation, suspended at the top of the stills in perforated copper baskets. This way, when the vapors of the hot alcohol rise, they carefully fuse with all the incredible flavors and aromas that the botanicals provide.
The 10 most relevant botanicals
Angelica Root – Botanical with extensive and deep roots. It provides balance to the gin. Cassia Bark: It is centuries old, comes from the cinnamon family and adds aromatic intensity to gin.
Coriander – botanical prized by Egyptian and ancient Greek pharaohs. It provides freshness and is reminiscent of lemon.
Grains of Paradise : little-known and very complex botanical. Introduces sweet flavors with a spicy touch.
Licorice : licorice roots, well known around the world, provide their characteristic and identifying aroma to gin.
Lemon : they use the lemon peel to preserve sweet and citrus aromas.
Orris Root : After the drying process, carefully selected natural extracts are used.
Juniper Berries : It is the most famous natural extract in the production of gin.
Almonds : reminiscent of dried fruits and honey, an essential natural extract for Bombay gin.
Cubeba : has aromas between black pepper and allspice, producing a bitter taste. It provides many aromas and we find it in the tropical forest.
