Marqués De Riscal is a cellar located in Álava and founded in 1858.
After this expansion, some more followed, among which the one from 1968 and 2000, the latter one with the inauguration of the City of Wine project. In this project, the cellar was integrated with the building that houses the Marqués de Riscal hotels, Luxury Collection Hotel; the Vinothérapie Caudalie Spa and two exclusive restaurants advised by the Michelin star Francis Paniego.
The Marqués De Riscal cellar is one of the best known internationally in La Rioja and also known in 110 countries.
The cellar works with the Tempranillo, Graciano, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mazuelo red grape varieties that occupy a total of 1,500 of its own hectares in the towns of Elciego, Laguardia and Vllanueva in Rioja Alavesa.
Within the D.O Rueda it has the largest expansion vineyard on property with a total of 205 hectares of the Verdejo and Sauvignon Blanc varieties. Between the two denominations they have a total of 700 hectares of their own vineyard.
